Advantages, Disadvantages and Threats of Jobs


Advantage
·         Can work from anywhere.
·         Easily change your work if mistakes occur.
·         Can speak to people on the go.
·         Companies no longer require staff to be in the same building or same country.
·         Technology has made the world a smaller place especially in the workforce, meeting being held through phone/video conferences etc.
·         Cost of travel expenses have been reduced greatly because of the exchange of information that can take place using modern technologies.


Disadvantage
·         No face to face communication so no tone in voice, or personal interaction.
·         Companies can be based in a western would location and employ cheap labour in poorer countries.
·         Companies often lack consideration of the soft skills than can enhance the company if clients are met face to face.
·         Networking skills are reduced and their is no “face to company” – personal exchanges between staff members can be cold and distant.


Threat
·         Cause of loneliness because there is no one else in the environment you are working in.
·         No feedback from the work you do.
·         The company couldn’t properly help you if you got stuck on the work.
·         Staff may not perform to their full potential because they spend time during their working hours surfing the internet.
·         Company information/in house knowledge can be leaked or hacked into, causing clients etc to loose trust in the company.
